Just in time for the holidays! This month's playlist is wrapped with greatness from our artists, including tracks from Slake Dransky's latest mixtape MID and a new single from Molly Pop. We have 9th Floor favorites sprinkled throughout, along with some names you haven't heard in a hot minute.
The holidays are a time for family, friends, and great memories. This playlist revisits popular songs from earlier in the musical year as new renditions with necessary collaborations and remixes.
If you're not sure what to give your family for Christmas, how about this playlist? As a matter of fact, don't bother leaving out milk and cookies for Santa; he can snack on this delicious new playlist.
Check out our highlights below!
“DÁKITI” - Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez
It's always a party when Bad Bunny shows up. This time, he's joined by fellow Puerto Rican sensation Jhay Cortez for the lead single from his third studio album, EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO. The single is an instant hit, literally. The avant-garde reggaeton jam debuted in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and the top five of 9th Floor Media's holiday playlist jams.
"FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT" - Bea Miller, Aminé
Initially a TikTok hit, the song received a necessary update with Portland native, Aminé. The song was released over a year ago but found its way back to the airwaves thanks to the tweens and teens on the popular social media app giving it new life. The futurepop song about being human and living with our sh*t is a whole mood, so get into all the versions.
"fuego (feat. Tyler, The Creator)" - Channel Tres
Is it just us, or does Channel Tres literally have the sexiest voice? "It's like horny butter." We're vibing with the whole project, but here's one of our favorite tracks from his song from the seven-track mixtape, I Can't Go Outside. Compton-born Channel Tres is joined by Tyler, the Creator to give us a little taste of futuristic hip-hop artistry. It's poetic and magnetic. Fuego, for sure.
"Watch Me Shine" - Molly Pop

"Blueberry Eyes (feat. SUGA of BTS)" - MAX
How could we not talk about this hit from MAX’s sophomore album, Color Vision? The song is inspired by the eyes of singer Max Schneider's beautiful wife, Emily. We saw her eyes, and we get it. Max always finds the best inspiration for his songs, and this airily beautiful ballad proves that. If the situation couldn't get any better, he is joined by SUGA of the Korean superstar group BTS with a smooth, sexy verse that completes the song.
"After We Smoke This (feat. Taylor Morse)" - Slake Dransky, AceChristo
Slake is our boy, so he will always get love. This playlist is jam-packed with goodies from his latest mixtape, MID. If you're looking for a song to pop in at the party, here it is. Slake always finds a way to bring it back to hanging with the homies and having fun on his projects. We can't wait to see how this track translates into a music video. The song is currently featured as the latest theme for the podcast, Black Man in the Right World.
"HOLIDAY" - Lil Nas X
Things we're always excited about: Christmas and Lil Nas X. He dropped another fun hit with Holiday, just in time for the actual celebration. Since he can't avoid the theatrics, of course, there is a hilariously creative music video to go along with the track. Teased in the "Origins of Holiday" trailer, the music video takes inspiration from one of our favorite classic Christmas movies, The Santa Clause, and gives it the Lil Nas X treatment.
"Blinding Lights (with ROSALÍA) - Remix" - The Weeknd
Give The Weeknd his flowers. The second single from his fourth studio album, After Hours, peaked at number one worldwide and remained at number one on the Hot 100 in Canada for seven weeks, four weeks in the United States, ten weeks in Germany, and eight weeks in the United Kingdom. Need we say more? There's plenty of remixes out there, but we picked this particular collaboration with ROSALÍA because we always need more of that hypnotizing songstress in our lives. Don't worry, Abel; the whole world knows your latest album is worthy of taking home the gold.
"Matches" - Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys
How many times can an album be re-released? We don't care if it means we get to hop into a time machine and travel back to one of the best times in music history. Enter royalty of the pop generation, Backstreet Boys, and the princess herself, Ms. Britney Spears. This new song on the deluxe version of 2016's Glory reminds me of all the talent, fun, and energy of 2001 in the best way. Can we get a Vegas performance or year-long residency for this song alone?
"WORKING" - Cartel Madras, Jide
Allow us to introduce you to Contra and Eboshi, the dynamic pair that are Cartel Madras. According to their Bandcamp, this is what the duo has to say about this fire track, "Ever since 'Housey' off of our first mixtape, Trapistan, we've been really excited to make our next house track. Much like 'Housey,' 'WORKING' is a queer, party track which pulls from our experiences as bad bitches in the music scene from the LGBTQ+ community. Once Jide, also a member of our collective, made us this beat we knew exactly what we wanted to do with it. This video is a love letter to the campy, colour coded Eurodance videos of the 90s." Bravo, Cartel Madras, bravo.
“Mr. Solo Dolo III” - Kid Cudi
The Man on the Moon is back. The seventh studio album by Kid Cudi is the final installment of the lyrical trilogy, which includes The End of Day (2009) and The Legend of Mr. Rager (2010). Scott Mescudi had a difficult journey up to this point, but this latest album is a metaphoric insight into the battle with his dark alter ego. We appreciate getting to witness a great conclusion to this decade long journey. Thank you for taking us along for the ride, Kid Cudi.
"when the party's over" - James Blake
This English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer probably has one of the most robust and impressive collaborations lists. He has an ear for the ethereal sound, and his unique voice compliments the energy. His latest Covers EP takes our favorite songs from our favorite artists and gives it the James Blake treatment. The entire EP is a treasure, but we selected the cover of Billie Eilish's "when the party's over" because it is incredible how different it sounds from the original but still manages to evoke the same emotion.
"Bells, Bows, Gifts, Trees" - Todrick Hall
Ok. There are many versions of this song for every occasion, from the general slay, the pandemic, and now Christmas. But, let us tell you that Mr. Todrick Hall kills it every time. Don't cheat yourself and absolutely check out the music video because that's what his performances are all about. Todrick is one of the original YouTube stars, and he's come a long way. If you're looking for a way to give your holiday spirit a little extra flair, emphasis on extra, then give yourself some "Bells, Bows, Gifts, Trees."
“The Garden” - Slake Dransky, AceChristo

"Orbit" - Rezz
Take us to your leader! Canadian DJ and record producer Rezz is a master of the otherworldly bass and hypnotizing electronic beats. Her latest track, "Orbit," is a perfect blend of synth and heavy bass. Rezz is a must-see for live performances as she incorporates every element of her unique sound into the visuals. Things are a little rough right now here on Earth, so peep the music video and allow Rezz to suck you into outer space and take you to another galaxy.
"Oh, Santa! (feat. Ariana Grande & Jennifer Hudson)" - Mariah Carey
There hasn't been a better trio since the three wise men. The wise men may have brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh, but these wise women brought us beauty, grace, and talent. Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas. Now she decided to outshine Santa Claus this year and gifted us the talented voice of Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande in the new version of her classic Christmas jam.
"Easy (with Kacey Musgraves feat. Mark Ronson)" - Troye Sivan
The dreamy Australian singer Troye Sivan delivered a hit with this track from his fifth EP, In A Dream (2020). What would make this already great song better? The answer is easy: Kacey Musgraves and Mark Ronson. The addition of the award-winning country singer-songwriter and record producer, respectively, is just the right formula for the perfect holiday re-release. Thank you for reminding us how much we love this song, Troye.
"Willow Tree (feat. Jerome Farah)" - Tash Sultana
The Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is literally an entire band in one single person. They've been a favorite of 9th Floor Media for a while, and now we happy to share one of their latest singles, "Willow Tree," featuring rising Melbourne artist Jerome Farah. It's hard to describe Tash Sultana in a few words and even more challenging to describe their music in a simple paragraph. If you're a fan of dreamy guitar, atmospheric vocals, and soul-funk-filled instrumentation, then let this be your introduction.
Look out for more from 9th Floor Media!
