Tell us about the journey and the process, Slake.
Honestly, I feel like I've lived a lifetime since people last heard new music from me. Sh*t was truly so weird, then so bad, then so healing, then so good, then so exhausting. Haha. I dunno. I think people are gonna be really surprised by this new sh*t.
Why are they going to be surprised?
Not just because I'm dropping two projects in one year (which I've never done before 💪), but because this sh*t sounds reeeaaaallllyyyyyy different. I feel like I say that before every project, but I think it in my bones with this one. It's risky. It feels like a combination of old Slake and brand new Slake, but I don't think it sounds like Colors at all.
What do you think about this new project?
I will say, I think people are gonna get some of the best bars I've ever written on this project. I think some of these songs are classics, but I've also lived with them for months at this point, haha. It's all mid, and I love it.
