And the category is… 9th Floor extravaganza! This time around, we selected high-energy and attitude as the baseline. As per usual, a few 9th Floor mainstays have found their way onto the playlist, but it's the newcomers that ultimately bring the ferocity. Each song is designed to give you all the tools to be the baddest thing walking and not miss a beat. Listen for the drums, airy vocals, booms, and claps. If you find yourself unsure what to do with your hands, vogue like your life depends on it. Lip-synching is encouraged, but we ask that you absolutely serve your best face as you enjoy each of these dance-inspired adventures. Keep a close eye on the speedometer if listening in the car because the consistent energy will have you over the limit.

We take pride in our versatile selection from all over the world, bringing attention to artists from every continent. Some of our favorite artists are making a long-awaited return, and their latest sound is everything we have been waiting for. We think you'll enjoy this playlist as a soundtrack to your workout to prepare yourself for your hot girl summer, whatever that means for you, because all shapes, sizes, and colors are celebrated here. Eat up, kids.

"Sweat - SOPHIE Remix" - SONIKKU, LIZ

This playlist wastes no time and takes us right into the next dimension with this transcendental dance-pop groove. The beautiful melody makes us confused about whether we want to cry or dance into the night. Tony Donson, a London-based musician, is a producer with a familiar sound. This remix from the late SOPHIE, Scottish musician, and avant-garde multi-hyphenate is the perfect collaboration to honor their legacy.

"Please" - Jessie Ware

Every now and then, there's a song that you have to play over and over again. This is it. The British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware serves us vintage vogue, and we're eating it up like hungry little children. When she's not serving sweet music, she's hosting a food podcast Table Manners with mommy dearest. "Please" is the newest addition to the forthcoming deluxe version of her fourth studio album, What's Your Pleasure? We can't wait to hear eight new songs and a handful of remixes.

"What's Your Name?" - iamdoechii

What's her name? It's Doechii, and we won't forget it. The energy and sass of this artist embody everything unique about this playlist. There's an overconfident charisma that's intriguing and inspiring. The song serves as the perfect anthem for a ball of voguing superstars or psyching yourself up on the freeway as you head to work. The vibe is so nice we had to include her twice. Check out "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake" for a trippy but sexy experience.

"On My Own" - TroyBoi, Nefera

TroyBoi is everything, literally. British producer Troy Henry is a "music manipulation specialist who" remixes tracks for R&B, pop, hip-hop, and pop artists. His electro dance-pop sound is the perfect addition to make any decent song, a whole vibe. This particular track is a science-fiction, classical, and delicate dance.

"Wait a Minute!" - WILLOW

The Willow Camille Reign Smith gives more than just wisdom at the Red Table with her elders. The singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, actress, and dancer is a clear sign the apple doesn't fall from the trees. The classic "Wait a Minute" from her debut album Ardipithecus is resurfacing thanks to TikTok tweens, and we are living for it.

The young royalty of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is back on the scene with a new playlist featured track featuring Travis Barker. "t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l (ft. Travis Barker)" reminds us exactly why we're obsessed with this young Queen in the first place.

"Down" - St. Vincent

She's back! Our precious duchess of demented rock graced the commoners with a few singles, but now the much anticipated sixth studio album Daddy's Home is here. We almost featured the entire album on the playlist. The album is inspired by Annie Clark's father returning from prison with the backdrop of the classic New York City. We live for the theatrics.

"Whole House" - Lolawolf

Here's a little throwback I'm sure you'll appreciate. Wondering if the mysteriously tantalizing actress Zoë Kravitz also takes after her father, Lenny Kravitz? The answer is yes, b*tch. We stumbled upon LOLAWOLF, an R&B and electro-pop duo with Jimmy Giannopoulos and Ms. Kravitz. "Whole House'' is one of our favorites from their second album, but the whole project is a gritty, true to roots kickback. Grab a joint, a drink, and listen from start to finish.

“Ani Kuni - Edit” - Polo & Pan

It's always a fun time listening to the culturally vibrant sounds of Polo & Pan. Paul Armand-Delille and Alexandre Grynszpan are the perfect pair to embody the adventurous atmosphere of European nightlife. This track is a playful beat with a real message using an actual Native-American hymn. It doesn't stop there. The duo has active support for the "National Indian Child Care Association (NICCA), a non-governmental organization that supports early care and education for Indigenous children in the United States. The mission of the NICCA is to promote high-quality, culturally relevant child care and development and unify tribes and tribal organizations by providing leadership, support, and advocacy on behalf of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.

"Body" - Elderbrook

Body is a steaming dance track with heavenly vocals and a smooth bassline. Elderbrook is a well-rounded artist dabbling in various genres and collaborating with many favorites of the 9th Floor. This song is perfect for fashion runways, underground leather warehouse parties, and late nights in the bedroom. Let's cross our fingers that this new music means there's a new album on the horizon.

"Fractions" - Nicki Minaj

The Queen has returned, and she has enough cake for everybody. To remind us of our place in the Queendom, she reissued her 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty. Many of us waited years for these songs on streaming platforms, and now our prayers are answered. Providing us with more blessings than we deserved, Nicki Minaj included a few new tracks on the mixtape, including one of our new favorites, "Fractions."

"Save Your Tears (with Ariana Grande)" - The Weeknd

Maybe we give The Weeknd and Ariana Grande too many flowers. Perhaps we don't care because they deserve it. It's not like the Grammys are going to show them any love anytime soon. Our favorite Canadian sad boy's fourth studio album, After Hours (2020), shattered records, so it makes sense he teamed up with Ms. Grande for a third collaboration with the second remix, "Save Your Tears." Do as you're told and save your tears. Turn this beat all the way up.

“Je t’aime encore” - Yelle

The playlist is full of comebacks and clapbacks in the best way. We welcome back French dance-pop sensation Yelle with open arms. It’s been a hot minute since 2014’s Complètement Fou. "Je t'aime encore" has a different sound than past Yelle projects. It's giving piano ballad with dancehall rhythms and voice—a whole experience.

"White Dress" - Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey's sweet whispers and melancholic moans always put us in the best mood. Lana's seventh studio album, Chemtrails over the Country Club, is the right medicine for an enchanting walk through the garden. If you don't have a garden, stare at the one dying succulent in your living room and contemplate your place in the world. We dare you to listen to this song and not become obsessed with how she said, "Down at the Men in Music Business Conference." The entire piece is basically one word with no punctuation. Bravo, mistress of melancholia, you did it again.

"Breathe" - ZABO

I swear this is what the inside of an alien spaceship sounds like. Canadian DJ and producer ZABO provides all the goodies we love about electronic music with heavy bass, electrifying vibrations, and airy harmonies. The midtempo rhythms remind us of 9th Floor favorite REZZ, and we are 100% okay with that. Turn the lights off, put on the headphones and allow these sounds to melt your freaking face off.

"WHOLE LOTTA MONEY" - BIA

After a long hard day of work, don't you feel like grabbing a wall and popping your booty? If so, here's the song that will get you right and ready. Platinum-certified rapper BIA was bumping out the backseat of cars last year, and thanks to social media, we're keeping the party going with this hit from her EP For Certain. We are for sure she's going to be around for a hot minute.

"Great! Big! Party!" - EYEAMKI

If you haven't heard of EYEAMKI at this point, allow us to educate you. The people of the internets have spoken, and this fun, vibrant singer is bringing good vibes to millions of followers all over the world. It all started with the famous TikTok using the line "my loneliness is killing me.." from Britney Spears'Baby One More Time,” and the rest was up for her. Now that's up and stuck, she doesn't have to worry about being lonely anymore. Get into it. It's a party, y'all.

Look out for more from 9th Floor Media!
